Bootcamp Pilates for the blondes

In case you were wondering, we do excersice. And with excercising, we don't mean strolling down Antwerp shopping streets or jogging once in a while, but real, die hard sporting.

Since a few months Kristin and I are getting tight en well formed bodies (at least, that's our mission) during the famous celebrity work-out straight from tinseltown: bootcamp pilates and treadlates at Pilates Nation in Antwerp.

"Bootcamp 'huh' and treadwhat..." you say? Well, the bootcamp pilates is a drill variant from ordinary pilates mixed with some fitness and rhythm. You excercise in small groups, max. 10 people, on a 'reformer' (Kristin and I look at it as if it is a middle age torture device, but it does the trick) with music on the background.
Richard, the instructor, keeps you going while yelling "you can do it", "common", "only eight more to go". Meanwhile you're sweating your fashionable pants off, and don't really notice that the only-eight-more-to-go actually were 20. :)

But our hearts really go out to Treadlates. It's so much fun! This class contains a half an hour of bootcamp preceded by a half an hour of treadmile running through a high intensity interval training. You run backwards, sideways, up the hill, down the hill, fast, slow, on high presure,... The hour flies by and you really have an amazing work-out. (read: you sweat like hell and can't feel your arms and legs afterwarts)
Sadly I torned my ligaments during skiing a few weeks ago, and I'll need an operation - cards and get well soon messages are always welcome ;) -, which means: no running for me for 6 (!!!) months. But to all of you who are still looking for some sport in their lives, only one address (if you live in Antwerp, offcourse):

Quelinstraat 37, 2000 Antwerp, or go visite their website.

And hey, if Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman are fans... Then so are we! ;)

*Pictures are from Pilates Nation (out legs don't look that great :), yet!)

    "Pain is temporary....Quitting is permanent!"

Kristin I will see you tonight at Treadlates!
